There's a bit of a trick required, but its hard to explain over this. Basically you need to do a variable substitution of y = k - G/2, and then rewrite the equation. There's a further trick of manipulation of the energy terms outside and inside the sqrt and then finally u need to expand the sqrt as a binomial expansion. That should get you most of the way.
