It is really interesting that trigonal's shape is really close to hexagonal but when we see the properties such as the angles and lengths between lattice points of these two in Bravais lattice ,they are different.
ReplyDeleteFrom the pictures in the link, it's not too difficult to see why the Americans might think that way. However, there are more differences than similarities between the hexagonal and trigonal systems. Therefore they should be separate systems.
