Filled bands are inert.

The consequences of this are:
1. having full bands in insulators.
2. only the partially filled band supply the current in a metal.
3. electron current adding to the hole current is equal to zero.

    Filled bands prevent the movement of charge; resulting in the existence of insulators right?
